Prabhas had donated Rs 4.25 crore to the relief works of coronavirus. But ‘Baahubali’ director didn’t announce any amount to either CM relief funds or PM Relief fund or Tollywood daily wage workers. He has been under sharp criticism from the social media janta.
On Friday (April 10, 2020), his PRO’s sent a message in media groups that Rajamouli and producer Danayya together had donated Rs 10 lakh to CCC initiative (Corona Crisis Charity) which is meant to help the cine workers of Tollywood. On Twitter, producer DVV’s handle mentioned that the Rs 10 lakh was announced by his production house.
Our industry depends on several individuals who work hard every day to make our visions a reality. We'd like to do our bit to support them via the great initiative #CoronaCrisisCharity by contributing an amount of Rs 10 lakhs for the cause.#DVVDanayya @ssrajamouli @KChiruTweets— DVV Entertainment (@DVVMovies) April 10, 2020
But the PR team also included Rajamouli’s name in this donation. This was enough fodder for trollers to attack Rajamouli. Being top earner of the Indian film industry, you should give a minimum Rs 10 crore, not Rs 10 lakh is the message trolls had given.
Rajamouli had a stake in the profits of “Baahubali 2” which earned the collection of Rs 2000 crore. He is also taking a hefty paycheck for “RRR”.
