This is what Bharatiya Janatha Party has offered the Megastar Chiranjeevi. BJP is desperately looking for popular and charismatic faces to steer its state wing in Andhra Pradesh. As ruling YSR Congress party consolidated dominant Reddys and SCs and TDP has grabbed Kammas and BCs in Andhra, BJP wants to woo Kapus. For this it needs a popular face. Chiranjeevi is the best option that BJP is betting on though his earlier political stint was a disaster.
Chiranjeevi launched Praja Rajyam party in 2008 and his party contested in the general elections in 2009. He secured just 18 seats in then Andhra Pradesh assembly. Merging the party in Congress, he took minister post in UPA 2 government. However, Chiranjeevi has been maintaining distance from active politics of late. He didn’t seek Rajyasabha seat again.
After the success of “Khaidi No 150” which was released in 2017, he started working for “Sye Raa”, which he had already finished shooting for, and is all set to commence Koratala Siva’s movie next month. After seeing the disastrous result of his brother Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party, Chiranjeevi may not dare to enter the politics again.
