There have been rumors that Mahesh Babu is charging Rs 50 Cr as his remuneration for Anil Ravipudi directed ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ that is under progress. This news has widely been reported in the media. Except for Rajinikanth, no star in South India has taken such a huge amount to his home for a single film. Even Prabhas didn’t charge such remuneration for “Saaho” that did more than Rs 350 Cr pre-release business on his name solely.
Given the business that “Saaho” did, Prabhas should charge Rs 100 Cr as remuneration when Mahesh Babu demanding such amount whose films do only Rs 120 Cr business.
Rs 50 Cr remuneration is a record for any star in Tollywood if it is true.
Producer Anil Sunkara, however, has slammed the reports saying that their production house didn’t pay a single penny to Mahesh Babu as the remuneration. The producer informed that Mahesh Babu is also one of the partners in “Sarileru Neekevvaru”. Mahesh Babu is taking entire money that comes from digital and satellite rights. Anil Sunkara and producer Dil Raju who are co-producing the movie will share profits on the theatrical business.
Then how much money will go to Mahesh Babu’s account? It depends on how much the digital and satellite companies come forward to pay him. After the GST cut, Mahesh Babu may get around Rs 35 to 40 Cr from this project.
“Sarileru Neekevvaru” stars Rashmika Mandanna as the heroine. Vijayashanti is making a comeback. Slated for Sankranthi 2020 release, it has Mahesh Babu playing the role of an army major.
