Prabhas met the local Telugu media for the first time in two years. After launching the trailer of ‘Saaho’ in Mumbai, he and the ‘Saaho’ team held a media interaction in Hyderabad. Prabhas revealed that Megastar Chiranjeevi left an appreciatory message after watching the trailer. “I was flabbergasted by his message and called him on his mobile to thank you. It was great of him to put such a sweet message.
“Saaho” stars Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor as the lead pair. Prabhas is playing an undercover cop while Shraddha Kapoor is to be seen as a crime branch officer Amrutha Nair.
Prabhas said he didn’t want to invest two years on “Saaho” but he allotted the dates as the film turned out to be huge in terms of production. Directed by Sujeeth, the film is produced by UV Creations. “Sujeeth narrated me this story even before the release of ‘Baahubali’. We thought of making it with rich production values but we didn’t plan such big-budget back then. After ‘Baahubali’, things have changed and the scale becomes huge and thus I had to give two years for this film as well. I know my fans are not happy with this decision but they will be celebrating with much happiness after the release of Saaho,” Prabhas explained.
Shraddha Kapoor said she had not met such down-to-earth Superstar as Prabhas is in her life. “He is one of the best co-actors I have worked with and he is the most loveable person. He is a great human being,” she praised.
‘Saaho’ will release worldwide on August 30.
Prabhas also scoffed at the rumors that the film is the new-age version of “Dhoom”. “No, not true. Except for bike sequences, this film has no similarities with the Dhoom franchise. Saaho is a completely different film from Dhoom,” he said.
‘Saaho’ also features Vennela Kishore in a comedy role and it also has Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Panday, Mahesh Manjrekar and Mandira Bedi in important roles.
