Thippara Meesam not only had a powerful title but also grabbed attention with its raw looking promos. Sri Vishnu who has been picking good scripts of late created some buzz around this film. But director Krishna Vijay makes it a overlong, boring emotional saga that is mostly pointless.

Mani (Sree Vishnu), a drug junkie who works as a DJ in a club, has an issue with his mother (Rohini), he hates her to the core. Still, he takes money from her from time to time. To get himself out from a financial mess he was drawn into due to betting, he demands 40 lakhs from her.

Seer Vishnu is the biggest highlight of the film and like always, gives a sincere performance. His character is weird and Vishnu pulled it off with ease. He was very good in last fifteen minutes especially in the emotional climax. Rohini is yet another big pillar of the film as her silence and emotional expressions bring a lot of depth to the film.

Sree Vishnu plays a complicated character. Although the marketing might make it seem like an Arjun Reddy redux, it is far from it. However, the influence can’t be denied. There is a transformation of the character from phoney attitude to being stubborn and finally, real tough guy, through the years and interaction with other characters.
